Apply Now for National Board Certification

The National Board Certification process is standards-based, linked to the NC Teacher Evaluation Process, and validated by research as improving teacher effectiveness and student learning. All eligible teachers will be provided with a low-interest loan, three days approved paid professional days to work on the assessment, and 15 continuing education credits upon completion of the process. Teachers will begin repayment of this loan following a 12-month interest-free waiting period. Federal subsidy funding (obtained through a NBPTS Department of Education grant) is available to pay half of the assessment fee for teachers who are federally funded. All questions regarding National Board Certification should be directed to Beth Edwards, at 919/807-3358 or eedwards@dpi.state.nc.us
